Mandatory Tuberculosis Chest X-ray

Students from certain countries are required to undergo tuberculosis testing if they are going to stay more than three months.

The examination applies to the following countries, please check fhi.no for updated information:
 

Europe and central Asian countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greenland, Kosovo,
Romania and countries in the former Soviet Union: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia,
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

America: Bolivia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana,
Haiti, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru.

Oceania: Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru,
Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia,
China, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal,
North-Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan,
Thailand, Vietnam and Yemen.

Africa: All countries except Egypt, Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles and Tunisia.


• When you go to the police to arrange with the residence card, they will at the same
time give you information about who to contact to undergo the tuberculosis testing.
• The tuberculosis testing is free of charge.

The x-ray is done at Ullevål Hospital, Division of Lung diseases. Please make an appointment by calling the hospital.

Important notice : The x-ray is free, but you MUST cancel no later than 24 hours in advance if you cannot make your appointment. If you do not cancel your appointed time, you will receive a bill of NOK 307 by mail.

Students at Kjeller Campus

The coordinator for international students will organise the examination for you and give you information about the time and place. Your appointment will be at Helseavdelingen, Skedsmo Rådhus
