Here you can find the buddy week program for the Faculty of Education and International studies - Autumn 2017.

Welcome to the buddy program for new students at

  • Bachelor and one-year programme in delveloping studies
  • Bachelor in kindergardenteacher studies
  • Bachelor in sign language and interpretation
  • Master in primary and secondary school teacher studies


Important information

  • As a new student you’re automatically assigned a buddy group. You don’t have to sign up. Activities are not mandatory, but we recommend joining!
  • If buddy activities collide with mandatory classes, always make going to class your priority.
  • In the event of any changes to this activity plan, your buddy will keep you updated.

Buddies will meet you at Pilestredet 52 and the group will head towards St. Hanshaugen for the welcoming ceremony.

15.00 – 16.30
Welcoming ceremony and music for all new students at St. Hanshaugen.

20.00 – 03.00
Party at Chateau Neuf

HiOA has booked Chateau Neuf and invite all students for a welcoming party.

Wednesday August 16th

Quiz trail

Each class goes from place to place to where a series of tasks are located. Through the trail you will get to know your campus and the area around the school, as well as have some fun with your classmates.

Party at Ballroom

For those who want to go out later we have booked Ballroom for a private event.

Thursday August 17th

Alcohol free sports day

During the sports day classes compete against each other to get the most amount of point, though team sports and other fun games.

Concert at St. Hanshaugen

Friday August 18th

Student association day in Campus Pilestredet
Buddies will take you there at a convenient time (when you’re not in class).
Student life will be more fun if you join a student association. On this day you can visit the stands of every student association at HiOA and find one that suits your interests.

Grilling in the park

Everybody get together to grill at St. Hanshaugen. We will bring fun games like kubb, bocha, volleyballs etc.

Find your Oslo! Your buddy will take you on a get to know the city-day for all new students in Oslo. Visit attractions, participate in activities and explore new venues in Oslo. Everything is free! For more information, visit:

Sports Day at Voldsløkka

On Wednesday we are arranging a big sports day for the whole school, where you and your class can go play sports and games.


Thursday August 24th

11.00 – 15.00
Student support day at campus Pilestredet
Buddies will take you there at a convenient time (when you’re not in class).

Get to know what HiOAs has to offer you as a new student. On this day you can visit different stands with all our support services from career advising and library services to IT-support and our University Chaplain.
